My love for travel didn’t begin with luxury — it began with longing. As a young girl, I remember listening to classmates share stories about their summer vacations, while I didn’t have much to say beyond visiting my grandmother across town. If I’m being honest, I was a little jealous. I wanted to see the world.
Years later, I realized my grandmother had never seen the beach, and that stayed with me. It shaped how I see life and how important it is to experience what’s out there while we can.
For a long time, travel felt just out of reach. I would dream about places, scroll through hotels, and imagine what it would feel like. And when I finally began traveling, even the smallest moments — a quiet hotel room, crisp sheets — felt like luxury.
After getting married, I fell in love with travel on my first cruise, but life shifted as I raised my children and supported my husband during his military years. Still, the dream never left.
Everything changed after my father passed away. That was the moment I decided to stop waiting and start living.
Today, I travel often, and the joy it brings me is pure bliss. Every time I walk through the airport, I feel like a rockstar — not because of where I’m going, but because I chose to go.
